Week One Predictions

Ok so here are my predictions for week one of college football.  They will come out every Thursday and I will predict all of the Big Ten games and will usually add in a couple of supplementary picks for the bigger matchups as well.  Let's get started.



Indiana v. Towson (Thursday)

Pretty analogous to this game.  Towson comes into the rockand get's massacred.  Somehow Nick Cage is there too.

Minnesota at Middle Tennessee State

I honestly think this is the best thing Jimmy Kimmel has put on YouTube (and that includes the music video with Ben Afleck).  Likewise, I think this will be the best win the Gophers get all season.

Ohio State v. Marshal

I know ESPN says the game won't start till Thursday night, but this one was over when it was scheduled.
Pick: Ohio State


Illinois v. Missouri


The last dance of the chief could easily be the title of this season for Ron Zook.  On a side note, do you think they will let Ron Zook do a dance in Assembly Hall before he leaves?  For the sake of comedy I kinda hope they do.

Penn State v. Youngstown State

I will make this simple, the Youngstown State Penguins (yes that is their real name) don't stand a chance against the Penn State Leopard Seals Nittany Lions.

Michigan State v. Western Michigan

Little known fact, while the Birmingham Cup Cak Station may have the best cupcakes, Zagat rated the Big Ten's opening week schedule as the place to go for the most cupcakes.

Iowa v. Eastern Illinois

More Big Ten cupcakes.

Michigan v. UConn

Just like I Love You Man, UConn is surprisingly underrated and I like them to pull the upset.

 Purdue v. Notre Dame


This video is about the holes in the plot of Batman Begins.  I chose it because nobody has made a video yet satirizing the holes in the Purdue defense and I figured it was the next best thing.

Northwestern at Vanderbilt

Robbie Caldwell was the only reason Vanderbilt players stopped playing World of Warcraft long enough to practice for football.  They are doomed without him.

Wisconsin at UNLV

Did you know that when you are gambling in Las Vegas your drinks are complimentary?  Sounds like exactly the kind of place Wisconsin fans would thrive.
