Week 9 Picks

Each week I will be posting my predictions for every Big Ten game game as well as a few of the out of conference. As always these will be accompanied by related (not really) YouTube videos.

Record this season: 49-13 Big Ten, 59-14 Overall

Northwestern v Indiana

The meek of the Big Ten would probably be ok with a win this week.  Unfortunatly, only one is going to get it.  Northwestern has looked far more competitive than Indiana this season so I think it will be the Wildcats.
Pick: Northwestern

Penn State v Illinois

Payback is coming for last year Illinois.  Penn State's defense is extremely good and the Nittany Lions want revenge for the upset you handed them on their homecoming last season.  This is going to be pretty painful for the Illini.
Pick: Penn State

Michigan v Purdue

Can Purdue manage to avoid a letdown this week against the Wolverines?  There are two possibilities, narrowly escape with a win, or end up falling off a cliff and further endangering Danny Hope's job.  I think the Boilers win this one, but the crash is still coming.
Pick: Purdue

Iowa v Minnesota

These highlights via the incomparable Hawkeye Historian.  I think this game provides the model for this season's tilt, with Iowa dominating but Minnesota grabbing a couple scores.  I even think the score seems like a reasonable possibility.
Pick: Iowa

Wisconsin v Ohio State

The Badgers have to recover quickly from their Michigan State hangover, as the Buckeyes are waiting in Columbus and are looking for some vengence from last year's beatdown in Madison.  However, I think with the leadership of Russell Wilson and a strong senior corps, the Badgers will do just fine.
Pick: Wisconsin

Michigan State v Nebraska

Michigan State played well last week against Wisconsin, but a road trip to Nebraska provides adifficult challenge for Sparty.  The Green and White will struggle in this one, but I think the mistakes of Taylor Martinez ultimately lead to a Spartan victory.
Pick: Michigan State

Other Games
Oklahoma v Kansas State

Oklahoma lost sight of what they were playing for this season, and it caught them in a loss last week.  I think they refocus and come out absolutely jacked up this week in Manhattan.  The Sooners destroy the Wildcats, 20+.
Pick: Oklahoma

Florida v Georgia

The World's Largest Cocktail Party is meeting for Halloween weekend which should only add to the craziness of this yearly event.  Georgia comes in hot and AJ McCarron has looked good but Florida could possibly have John Brantley back for this game and I think he leads the Gators to a big victory over their bitter rivals.
Pick: Florida
