Week Eight Picks

Each week I will be posting my predictions for every Big Ten game game as well as a few of the out of conference. As always these will be accompanied by related (not really) YouTube videos.

Record this season: 49-13 Big Ten, 59-14 Overall

In honor of Homecoming Week here at Iowa, here are your picks with some collegiate flavor.

Iowa v. Indiana

Iowa fans should expect to have enough rope that this game isn't too much of a threat.  Beware however, as there is a slim chance the Hawks could accidentily drop this one into a man hole and cause their fanbase unspeakable pain.Pick: Iowa

Illinois v. Purdue
The engineering Nerds at Purdue have something to rally around this homecoming, as I think they shock the Fighting Illini football team in their Homecoming in West Lafayette.
Pick: Purdue

Nebraska v. Minnesota
Minnesota has turned into that pessimistic guy who can't seem to find meaning in life.  Love sucks, their attitude sucks, and most of all, their team sucks.
Pick: Nebraska

Penn State v. Northwestern

I wasactually looking for the "gut the freaking nerd" quote but this will have to do.  Penn State will do just fine kicking the crap out of Northwestern themselves.
Pick: Penn State

Michigan State v. Wisconsin
Michigan State has been accused of playing dirty on defense, but, as Mr. Belushi demonstrates, winning a fight in college often means fighting dirty.  I think the Spartan defense upsets the Badgers in East Lansing.
Pick: Michigan State

Other Games
Stanford v. Washington

It may seem as crazy and irrational as being able to blow stuff up with your mind, but I have the Washington Huskies upsetting the Stanford Cardinal this week, thus ending any speculation of a BCS problem with multiple undefeated major conference schools.
Pick: Washington

Southern Cal v. Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish have managed to hang in there and have a chance to prove to themselves, and the world that they can compete with anybody and have a legitimate shot at winning out and making a BCS bowl game.
Pick: Notre Dame
